Special Post: Cover Reveal!

Oh, wow.

Sara Helwe has done it again, only this time for another author. Isn’t that cover gorgeous?

My dear friend, Sarah Armstrong-Garner, is having her debut novel published.

And I get to be a part of her cover reveal! Squeal!

Sinking releases February 23, 2015, and will be available for pre-order soon.

I have read this book, and let me tell you, the cover is just as lovely as the inside. I can’t wait till you get to read it too!

Check out Sarah’s website to learn more about her, or her Facebook or Twitter to keep up with her updates. And don’t forget Pinterest! Her Sinking board has some crazy awesome pins of what inspired her story.

Okay. That’s it. I just had to share.

I can’t wait till this book is out! :)

Happy Reading!

In Him,

Michele

Which cover did I choose?

I decided to use both of them.

Yep. You heard me right.

Both. Of. Them.

92 chose the gold cover. 23 picked the blue.

You voted. I listened. But there was just one thing I couldn’t get over.

I am in love with the blue cover.

So here’s the thing.

Since Wisdom & Folly: Sisters is such a massive book, it is being published in two volumes. (Seriously, I added so much more–it has doubled in size!)

Then you get your cover, and I get mine! How perfect is that?

I am working hard with my cover artist, the amazing Sara Helwe, to get this book to you soon.

(But I must say I am so relieved to have a little bit more time to perfect the second part of the book! Yay!)

Up next: Just when is my release date? ;)

Can’t wait to share my book with you!

In Him,

Michele

Cover Reveal: Zombie Takeover

I have been wanting to show you this for ages!

Zombie Takeover was the first cover Sara Helwe designed for me, and I love it even more now than I did then. If that’s even possible.

The reason I couldn’t show you before was I received a query from Pelican Book Group, asking to see my manuscript. They also wanted 90 days in which to review it. At the end of those 90 days, their very kind editor informed me that although she enjoyed the story, Zombie Takeover just wasn’t right for their publishing house. (But she did say she hoped to see me in print soon!)

Before I received said rejection letter, I started working on rewriting Wisdom & Folly, and I asked Sara to create a cover for that book as well.

We went through many versions of both covers (and I may even show you a few), but I wanted to reveal Zombie Takeover’s cover today for several reasons.

One, just to show it off. I mean, come on. Gorgeous.

Two, to ask you to compare it to Wisdom & Folly’s gold cover.

Is it a good idea to have two covers of the same color scheme? Should I choose the blue for more variety? Or is the gold so wonderful and eye-catching it doesn’t matter if both covers are the same color?

Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE the gold Wisdom & Folly cover, and I’m so excited to use it! But I want to know.

Does this change your opinion?

I honestly wasn’t expecting such an overwhelming vote for the gold cover–I thought it would be rather even between the two.

Nope.

You picked gold, and gold it shall be! (Unless you think it’s better to have two different color schemes…)

Anyway, back to Zombie Takeover.

Can you wait to hold that thing in your hands? I know I can’t!

Here is a little about the book:

I was the bravest, fiercest warrior, singlehandedly stopping the zombie apocalypse and earning the respect and admiration of those who fought with me. Just kidding. I pretty much peed my pants and wasted a ton of ammo. At least I know everyone else shot what they were aiming at. Me? Not so much. This is my story—me, Candace Marshall, the world’s biggest scardey-cat, facing my biggest fear. Zombies. It was awesome. (As in, not at all.)

***

Candace Marshall hates zombie movies. She hates anything scary, in fact. In his usual way, her not-so-thoughtful boyfriend surprises her with advanced screening tickets to the latest zombie flick, complete with interactive features and a tour. Yeah right. Like that’s gonna happen. She refuses to watch it, but it doesn’t matter.

Horror becomes reality when an experiment gone wrong transforms her peaceful town into a mess of slathering zombies. Thrown together with the only other survivor, Gavin Bailey, her favorite actor and secret crush, she somehow fights her way out of the mess, making plenty of blunders and surprising herself with…courage?

But, just when Candace thinks it can’t get worse than zombies, it does.

***

There you have it! Book one of the Candace Marshall Chronicles.

I had so much fun writing it, and I hope you will have fun reading it as well! I’ll let you know the moment I have a release date. For either book. (I do know Wisdom & Folly will be released first!)

Don’t you just love the covers for both of my books?

Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments and support!

I am enjoying this journey so incredibly much! :)

In Him,

Michele

My Gorgeous Girl

She’s here! My sweet princess has finally arrived, turning my world upside down.

As crazy as this sounds, I have had this insane writing spree where all of these plot lines have exploded in my head. I’ve been scribbling in notebooks during the endless hours of feeding my new girl, and now I have to find the time to transfer my ideas to my computer!

I’m so excited about these new story lines! :)

And I have some news to share.

I am having a cover designed by my incredibly talented cover artist, Sara Helwe, for Wisdom & Folly: Sisters. The story you see here on my website (and can still access) will be updated and expanded, and available in both Kindle ebook and paperback.

When I know the release date, I will be sure to let you know right away!

Also, I heard back from Pelican Book Group about Zombie Takeover. The editor said although she truly enjoyed my story, she did not think it was right for their publishing house at this time. She encouraged me to continue trying to get the book published. She was very kind and encouraging, and I appreciated the way she gently let me down. I must say, rejection letters are still hard, no matter how kind!

So I guess I have my answer.

Zombie Takeover will be self-published soon, with a cover reveal coming shortly. I can’t wait to show you the gorgeous cover Sara designed! I love it!

So there you have it.

More hurdles, disappointments, and perseverance on this road to publication. One day I will taste victory! :)

While my deepest wish and prayer is to be traditionally published, I will put my self-publishing courses to use and get my name and books out there for your reading enjoyment, pursuing traditional publishing along the way.

Thank you for joining me on this incredible journey, and I look forward to sharing more news as I traverse along! :)

In Him,

Michele
